Volkswagen in China The German Volkswagen Group in China, Volkswagen (China) Investment Company Limited, has set up two joint-ventures and some car parts enterprises in Shanghai and Changchun and over 100 car part suppliers throughout China. With a total investment of RMB18.9 billion ($2.3 billion), Volkswagen in Shanghai has introduced dozens of car models including Santana, Santana 2000, Passat, Polo, Gol. With total investment of RMB11.1 billion ($1.35 billion), Volkswagen in Changchun has introduced two brands of Audi and Volkswagen and five car model series including A6, A4, Bora, Jetta, and Golf. Thanks to its ever improving car models and excellent customer service, Volkswagen has become the biggest joint venture car manufacturer in China and has a large number of Chinese consumers. At present, China is the second largest single market for Volkswagen Group in the world. Within five years from now, the Volkswagen group will continue to invest over 5 billion euro in the Chinese market. Boeing in China Boeing has been in cooperation with China since 1972. It has carried out training in flying, maintenance, and management, providing for the successful operation of Boeing in China. Besides, Boeing has set up its own airport representative service, logistics and technical supports in China, helping China's aviation to improve air transportation management and safety. In the meantime, Boeing has cooperated with China's aviation manufacturing industry and set up new joint ventures on composite material manufacturing, airplane re-assembling and maintenance, and spare parts supply. At present, more than 3000 active Boeing planes' key components and parts are made in China. Nokia in China Nokia has two global research and development centres in China and its branch offices can now be found across the country with over 4500 employees. The major products of Nokia have realized localization in production. They include the latest Nokia mobile phones, relay stations, controllers of relay stations, mobile transiting centres, access equipments, digital switching equipments and multi-media terminal products.
